Activation

The activation window can be found by selecting options... from the SU effect / synth main menu and then clicking the activate button at the bottom of the options window. For an explanation of the benefits of activating Studio Units, please refer to the last part of the installation section. In most cases automatic activation will be possible via the internet.

First, you will need to obtain a serial number, which you can do by visiting the website studio-units.com/buy and purchasing a licence. You will also need to create an account on studio-units.com, using the same email address that you specified when purchasing the licence. If the email addresses are different, please update the the one on your studio-units.com account so that they match.

Once you have done this, your serial number will be emailed to you and also revealed on the following web-page: studio-units.com/myproducts.

Type the serial number, e.g. 12345678, into the Studio Units serial number field at the top of the plugin's activation window, and then click the generate request button. This will attempt to automatically connect to studio-units.com and perform the activation. It is only possible to activate using a serial number that belongs to your account. If a connection is made, subject to internet access being available, then the following login window will appear:

Upon entering your username and password (those associated with your account on studio-units.com) and clicking the activate button, the activation process will proceed automatically. Momentarily, a popup window should be displayed, informing you that activation is complete. You can also confirm successful activation, by checking that your serial number is displayed at the bottom of the options window.

If the login window does not appear, it means that the plugin was unable to reach the website for some reason. In that case, you can continue with the manual activation procedure, described on the next page, or retry the automatic activation at any time, by clicking the generate request button again.

The following instructions apply to the situation where automatic activation was not possible for some reason. Upon entering your Studio Units serial number and clicking the generate request button, a request code should have appeared. Depending on whether your computer is currently capable of accessing the internet via a web-browser, please choose one of the following options.

If the computer on which you are activating the software can browse the internet, click the copy request button to copy the request code onto the system clipboard. On the website studio-units.com/myproducts, click the 'activate' link that is next to the Studio Units serial number. This will take you to the activation page. You should then paste the request code into the 'paste your request code' field on the website and click the 'get activation code' button. The website will then display an activation code, which is valid for your serial number and the computer on which you generated the request code. Next, copy the activation code from the website to the system clipboard, and then click the paste activation button, back in the plugin's activation window. This should display a popup window stating that the activation has completed successfully.

Alternatively, if your computer is not connected to the internet, then start by clicking the save request button instead. Select a file in which to store the request code, on a USB flash drive or similar removable media. You will then need to transfer this file to an internet connected computer. On the website studio-units.com/myproducts, click the 'activate' link that is next to the Studio Units serial number. This will take you to the activation page. Using a text editor (Notepad on the PC or TextEdit on the Mac), open the file containing the request code. Copy and paste from the text editor into the 'paste your request code' field on the website, and click the 'get activation code' button. The website should then display an activation code, which is valid for your serial number and the computer on which you generated the request code. Next, click the 'download' link that is above the activation code on the website, and save it to a file on a USB flash drive, or similar removable media. Transfer this file to the computer on which you have Studio Units installed. Back in the plugin's activation window, click the load activation button and select the file containing the activation code from the website. This should display a popup window stating that the activation has completed successfully.
